WSDM 2012 Bing Student Travel Grants

Thanks to sponsorship by Bing, we are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of grants for students that want to attend WSDM 2012 next February in Seattle, WA. The grant winners will receive funds to use for paying for travel and registration expenses for attending WSDM 2012. All Ph.D. students interested in Web Search and Data Mining can apply. To be reimbursed, awardees must register for (and attend) the main conference like other student participants. Expenses to be covered can include registration and housing for the workshops/tutorials. Students from Universities in the Puget Sound area are not eligible.

To apply, please send, no later than December 20, 2011, an e-mail to wsdm2012-students@googlegroups.com with the subject "WSDM2012 Bing Student Travel Grant Request" and include the following information:

  • Your CV, containing your research topic, advisor, list of publications, affiliation, contact information, etc.
  • 1-page statement about why you wish to attend WSDM 2012
  • A budget describing your expected expenses, and a list of expected funding from other sources

The winners will be notified by e-mail by January 10, 2012 and their names published on the conference web page. We are looking forward to receiving your applications.
